Everyone’s probably seen this coming for a while but I don’t think I’ll be coming on here any more. That’s not to rule it out exclusively - I may post occasionally or I may come back. But for now, I can’t say.
Why? The first reason is that I’m scared my laptop’s going to die on me sometime soon, and I really can’t afford another one. Then there’s the drama that always seems to be in this community (I’ve got enough of it in my life already!) and just the fact that I don’t feel 100% immersed in it. Don’t get me wrong, there are some people on here who I’ve really enjoyed meeting and are absolutely wonderful and you know who you are. Things just feel really clique-y and I feel more like a download bank than a part of a community sometimes. It’s petty and stupid but I guess that’s sort of pushing me to leave.
Computer and online stuff is only really the icing on the cake though. Real life is being crazy, I’m working six days a week in a really boring job that is constantly busy because they’re too stingy to pay more staff (and I’m getting pretty pissed at it!). Then there’s the boyfriend moving away for four bloody years in September and that’s really messing with me and I have no idea whatsoever what to do with that so as you can see I don’t really have much headspace for computer games.
Look, all I really needed to post was ‘guys, taking a hiatus!’. I think I just needed the rant. So I’m sorry. This blog will always remain up for all the resources/downloads and I might be back from time to time to creep on your stuff (cos I still like seeing it!).
Happy simming, maybe I’ll see you guys soon.
Meanwhile, Paige and Ricca went off to do girly things, like shop at Sentate and do some yoga. Of course they decided to be derpy sims the whole time. The third photo…whaaaaa? Was your purchase that good? And the sales person looks sort of uncomfortable!
Love the yoga mats (I think they’re from mod the sims). The clipping is a teeny bit annoying but hey. Yoga!
Playing with the Grant family, who were made for me by pdxsim. Today Travis and Tucker went to go play a game of soccer down at the school oval (it’s Sunday). Tucker’s a professional sportsman so of course poor Business student Travis doesn’t stand a chance! But they still have fun.
A modified and expanded version of James and Liam’s original music store I made on this lot (Martine’s White Lion Pub & Shops). Saw the record store set and could not resist, seriously.
Downstairs is a music shop, made functional with the Savvy Seller Collection, and a cool record store. Upstairs is a loft which functions as a bar and hosts bands - underground rock, cool jazz cats, anything a bit left-of-centre or alternative to the point where it’s almost pretentious. But hey. You gotta have one of those venues :)
The Lavender Cafe
This lot is by Martine (as always!!) and is super gorgeous, I just redecorated a tiny bit and replaced the bakery with an ice-cream parlour. It functions as an upmarket chocolatier and also as a sort of milk-bar dessert cafe.
In the light of the Simblr Awards and also a lot of ‘follow Friday’ or ‘favourite simblrs’ lists, I just wanted to say that you are all amazing talented people and every single one of you deserves an award - that goes not just for my followers or people I follow.
Just know you are appreciated
As you may well know I’m currently trying to save money. I’m saving for a (cheapo) holiday as well as money to afford to go to Uni next year. I’m working very very hard, often six days a week, to afford this!
Enter someone I know, who owns a clothing boutique that was closing, who was nice enough to give me some of the leftovers for a very low price. What a gem.
Basically, I am selling high-quality clothing for a fraction of the original price! It’s all really really cute stuff and I’d really appreciate it if you could give it a look. Prices are 100% negotiable as well, haggle if you’d like!
As me coming across this stack of clothes was really nice and basically charity in itself, I’d like to do something nice in return. 20% of each item’s price I will donate to a charity of your or my choosing. Might as well do some good!
All the rest of the details, including shipping prices (as cheap as I could possibly make them) and payment details are on the about page on the website.
You can contact me to negotiate anything or if you have any questions either on tumblr or at email@example.com. I’m not really running a business; I’m just a person, so I’d like to think I’m pretty nice and reasonable - I promise! :3
I’d really appreciate it if you could reblog if you are interested in this kind of thing, I’m trying to get the word out as much as I can! Your call, though! :)
Please everybody, help a girl out!
(ps. posts about this will always be tagged appropriately so that you can block them if you don’t want this on your dash!)
Oh - thanks for all the world feedback everyone! I’m going to throw LN into the mix, but I’ll leave UNI out. Most people have at least LN, anyway. Then hopefully more people will be able to play and I’ll be able to build better bars etc. :)
Tried to make it sort of Starbucks-esque. Anyway, I imagine this is where all the cool art school cats hang out on their lunch breaks, with all the science and technology students huddled in a corner with calculators. :)
Sim State University - Kensington Harbour Campus
I don’t really know what happened with this building. The part on the right is the Southbridge Public Library by Awesims, which is an awesome lot that I, because of some strange streak of inspiration, decided to smack on a larger lot and build on. Anyway, now it’s a university. With modern window arrangement. Or something like that.
